Feature

The mirror screen: scan results on the wall, for 60 seconds.

A member steps off the scanner and the TV in the room turns into their result — score, muscle, fat, the numbers they actually care about, at a size everyone standing nearby can read. A minute later it goes back to your branded idle screen. It is the cheapest piece of social proof a store can run, because the proof is a real customer's result appearing in real time, not a stock photo.

01 — How it works

One URL, one screen, no app

  • Provisioned from a URL in your settingsThe portal gives you a link carrying a kiosk token and the store key. Open it once on the screen and the screen remembers which store it belongs to. No account to sign into on a TV remote, no credentials typed with a D-pad.
  • It watches for the newest scanThe display polls for the latest result at its store and picks it up within seconds of the scan finishing. Nobody has to press anything — not the member, not the staff member who is busy with a customer.
  • Sixty seconds, then back to idleA result takes the whole screen for a minute, which is long enough to read and short enough that the next person's scan is not waiting behind it. Then it returns to a branded idle screen in your colors.
  • Any screen with a browserSmart TV, a stick behind the TV, an old tablet propped by the scanner. There is nothing to install and no hardware to buy from us — same rule as the check-in kiosk.
  • Unmapped scanners show everywhereStated plainly because it will bite a two-location operator: a scan from a scanner whose serial is not mapped to a store has no store, so it appears on every mirror. Map your serials during setup and each screen stays local.

02 — In practice

Why a screen beats a printout

The printed sheet is a private document. It goes in a gym bag and the store never benefits from it. The same numbers on a wall for one minute do something the sheet cannot: the other three people in the room see that this is a thing that happens here, ask what it is, and get on the machine themselves. Scan volume is the input to everything downstream — the challenge leaderboard needs repeat scans to mean anything, and a member with one data point has nothing to come back for.

Consider where you hang it. Facing the scanner is the obvious answer and usually the wrong one, because the person who just scanned is the one who needs it least. Pointing at the floor or the retail wall — somewhere people waiting or browsing will catch it — is what turns the screen into recruitment rather than a receipt. And treat the idle state as real estate: for most of the day that screen is your brand on the wall, which is the same reason the kiosk and the member site carry your name and not ours.

The screen shows what the scanner sends, so it depends on scans arriving. Both routes work — the LookinBody webhook, or the photo-upload fallback for units that cannot use the API — and both are laid out on the InBody integration page. This is included in the platform, not a hardware upsell; see pricing.

03 — Questions

Straight answers.

What hardware does the mirror screen need?

A screen that can open a web page and stay awake — a smart TV, a TV with a cheap stick behind it, or a spare tablet. There is no app to install and no box to buy from us.

How do I set one up?

The provisioning URL lives in your portal settings. It carries a kiosk token and the store key, so you open it once on the screen, the screen remembers, and you never touch it again. Put that URL in the browser's startup page and the display comes back on its own after a power cut.

What shows on the screen when nobody is scanning?

A branded idle screen in your colors and logo. A result takes over for 60 seconds when a scan lands, then it goes back to idle — so the default state of the screen is your brand, not an empty dashboard.

I have two locations. Will one store's scans show up on the other store's TV?

Not if the scanner is mapped. Each mirror is provisioned with a store key and shows that store's scans. One caveat worth knowing before you hang the second TV: a scanner whose serial is not yet mapped to a store is unattributed, and unattributed scans show on every mirror. Map the serials and the problem disappears.
